An RCMC (Registration-Cum-Membership Certificate) is a certificate issued by Export Promotion Councils or Commodity Boards. It serves as proof that an exporter is registered with a council authorized by the Government of India.
RCMC is mandatory for exporters to avail benefits under Foreign Trade Policy and to establish credibility with various authorities. It also helps exporters connect with industry-specific councils.
RCMC is issued by the Export Promotion Council or Commodity Board relevant to the exporter’s product line. The choice of council depends on the nature of goods or services being exported.
Any business or individual involved in exporting goods or services needs to apply for an RCMC. It is especially important for those seeking benefits or incentives under DGFT schemes.
An RCMC is generally valid for a fixed period as defined by the concerned Export Promotion Council. Exporters need to renew it before expiry to continue enjoying the benefits.
