Food safety and standards authority of India (FSSAI): Statutory body

Aim of FSSAI: To ensure safe and wholesome food for human consumption
Role of FSSAI: To regulate manufacture, processing, distribution, sale and import of food.

Validity: one to five years based upon selection during registration with 100rs annual registration fee, only eligible if business turnover is 12lakh per year.

FSSAI Registration is a license issued by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India that certifies the safety and quality of food businesses.
It ensures that food businesses comply with safety standards, build customer trust, and legally operate in the Indian food industry.
All food-related businesses such as manufacturers, processors, traders, distributors, restaurants, and small vendors must obtain it.
