CIMS stands for “Coal Import Monitoring System” instituted by the Ministry of Coal, Government of India to provide the information about the coal imports to India.
The purpose of this system is to provide statistical data on import of coal entering into India prior to arrival of the imports.
Who is required to get CIMS License?
Any Business / Entrepreneur who are Importing Coal Products covered under the Licensing program is required get the CIMS License for concerned coal imports.
CIMS License Registration Number is valid for a period of 90 days from the date of issuance.
Importers need to enter the CIMS Registration Number and License expiry date of in the Bill of Entry to enable Customs for clearance of consignment form the ports.
